Early morning light creates beautiful possibilities for landscape photography. The Dubuque Camera Club held a dawn photo shoot on the top of the Central Avenue parking ramp on Saturday, June 18.

The vista of downtown Dubuque was remarkable, especially with  heavy mist rising from the Mississippi River. The event was attended by six people.

The following weekend, eight people attended a followup  photo shoot at Mount Carmel on Saturday, June 25. Dawn happens around 5:30 a.m. this time of year, with the most vibrant pink and gold colors just before the sun rises.
